Oldsmobile turned out 350,000
precision aero-engine parts,
175 million pounds of gun forgings,
140,000 machine guns, and
millions of rounds of ammunition.
It officially became the Oldsmobile
Division of General Motors on New
Year's Day 1942, thus ousting the
Olds Motor Works title dating from
1899.
